Rhonda Staley-Brooks is the current president and chief executive officer of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sacramento. She has served in that capacity for ten years and has been working with Big Brothers Big Sisters for nineteen years. In that time, Brooks has gone from a caseworker earning her degree at CSU Sacramento to program manager to the local chapter’s executive officer. She has enjoyed every step along the way. As CEO, Brooks’ primary role is to recruit, train and work with the local board of directors to raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento. She also oversees the staff at the local chapter and she is responsible for many improvements at the Brooks helped streamlined the screening process, cutting the time it takes to match mentors and children. The process used to take three to six months. She worked with the Big Brothers Big Sisters national office and using best practices has cut the time to three to six weeks to match a big brother or sister with a child. Under her leadership, the local Big Brothers Big Sisters chapter is matching more kids with more mentors then ever before. The organization matches more than 200 kids every year, more than double the amount it used to. Brooks began at Big Brothers Big Sisters in Brooks was awarded Black History Month All Stars from the Maloof Sports & Entertainment staff in February 2007. She completed the CEO-Link Leadership Class through the Non-Profit Resource Center in 2008. She completed her fellowship in the Nehemiah Emerging Leaders Program in June 2010. Brooks is the founding member of the Sacramento Black CEO Network and most recently awarded Top 40 Under 40 through the Sacramento Business Journal. Brooks was accepted as a fellow of the Leadership California class of 2012.
