Greater Sacramento (hereinafter "BBBS-Sac")
values your privacy and takes reasonable measures to
safeguard your information from unauthorized use. The following is a detailed
explanation of our privacy policy with regard to the web site.
What Information do we collect?
We do not use "cookies" or any other methods to collect information about the
visitors to our web site. The only information collected is that which is entered on one
of the forms requiring the user to press 'submit' to send us the information entered
on the form.
Why do we collect this information?
When an online form is submitted to
us we collect the user's IP address,
user name, and browser type to
assist us in website maintenance in
case we have any trouble with the
website and to help up maintain
website security. Specific
information that is submitted to us
is used only to fulfill the specific
purpose of the form submitted
(volunteering, donations, etc.).
How is the Information Protected?
All information submitted by a customer via the Internet is stored on a server, which
requires proper-authentication for access. The server is housed in a secure environment that
employs a variety of techniques to protect your information. We also use anti-virus protection
software to guard against outside attacks on our networks. All employees that we hire have to
sign a confidentiality agreement that forbids them from disclosing any information to which the
employee has access, to other individuals or entities. We also have back up servers and power
supplies to guard against power outages and other natural occurrences that could pose a threat
to the integrity of your personal information. When an employee is no longer
us,
we change access codes that were used to access any information.
Any information submitted by a customer by other means such as the mail, or by facsimile, is
stored in a secure area and access to this information is limited to only those employees who
need the information in order to do their job effectively.
Who Has Access to my Information?
We do not lease, license, sell or share any of this information with anyone or any other
company. Our technical support personnel may have access to your information in order
to conduct routine checks on the integrity of our system and in order to perform necessary
maintenance work. The only time someone other than a BBBS-Sac, employee will ever see or be
privy to your personal information is in the case of a judicial request (such as a subpoena).
Can I Correct or Remove Information from your site?

Can I Opt Out of Having Certain Information Collected?
Yes -- simply do not submit any of the online forms. We hope you will still choose to
contact us by phone or mail to participate or volunteer in our programs.
Notification of Changes to our Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to change this privacy policy at any time and if any changes do occur,
we will publish the changes to our web site and post a notice on the home page that a new
privacy policy has been implemented. We will also take reasonable steps to contact you personally
