The Big Disco a Big Success?
YES!! We are excited to report that the
Big Disco puts the finale on a great
year being the biggest fundraiser of
2007. The books are not closed yet but
its looking like close to $95,000 net
to Big Brothers Big Sisters. We could
not have done it without all of our
sponsors. We want to thank ABD Insurance
& Financial Services and Pacific Coast
Companies who were our Biggest sponsors.
 Next
up in our Bigger Sponsers category we

A special thanks to our
Big Disco committee lead by Lynn
Matsuda. We did it!! The night was
filled with entertainment and a
wonderful auction lead by Barbara Ward
and our auctioneer Jack Young.
This was
our first year with the new auction
system and we couldnt have done it
without the help of Jody, Rick, Gin and
all of our special events volunteers.
You dont know how much your help meant
to us!! The
highlight of the evening was giving the
Big Brother and Big Sister of the Year
awards. Andrew and Tiva were completely
brave to stand in front of 400 people
and give their speeches. They made our
staff and their bigs proud!!
Congratulations to Jack Wixon and Karon
Jennings our 2007 Big of the Year
recipients. We want to congratulate our
other nominees: Adrien Demar, Jonathan
McNabb, Daryoosh Razvan, Adele Gray,
Stacey Severson and Tiffany Wahl.

My Big Sister Tiffany
 Matched
for 2 ½ years; Tiffany and Brandie share
a special bond. Brandie would like to
share her story with the BBBS family.
Tiffany has been my sister for 2
½ years. She is fun, caring; she listens
when I need a friend and guides me if my
anger leads me astray. Shes always
there when she says shes going to be!
Weve been on lots of outings together;
the snow, movies, horse back riding,
shopping, hanging out at her house and
baking, just to name a few. I am so glad
shes my sister and I love her very
much.

We
would like to welcome our new board and
staff members; Leslie Taylor and Buu
Nguyen. Leslie joins our Board of
Directors with a background in assisting
community action agencies in recruiting
board members, as well as strategic
planning and organizing events. Buu is a
recent graduated from UC Davis and joins
our enrollment team. Her prior
experience includes Families First in
Davis and as a research assistant for UC
Davis at the Center for Child and Family
Studies.
We
welcome you all and look forward to a
long working relationship.
Congratulations to Dale and Debbie
Waldschmitt who tied the knot on
November 4, 2007. Heres to a long and
happy life together!!!!
